Prologue

It's all your fault.

I lost everything because of you.

My teacher.

My friends.

They all died because of you!!!!!

I gritted my teeth to the point of almost bleeding my gums as my hands trembled holding a thick black-covered book with silver edges. The book had no title, no inscriptions. At first glance it would look like a normal book, the kind you could easily get in a bookstore if it weren't for the fact that this book was....

...An immortal grimoire.

No matter when you tore it apart, how many pages you tore out or how much you dirtied it, the grimoire returned to its natural state clean and intact. I had already forgotten how many times I destroyed it in a rampage of my uncontrolled anger, but all my attempts were failures.

Chapter 01: Chapter 01

Somehow, I felt like my body was floating in the void.

It was a strange sensation.

My consciousness wandered in this strange place, floating as if it were a strange cloud without form or mass, just existing there and nothing else. I could not feel my breathing or my limbs. Nor could I hear any sound, everything was an eternal sepulcher. The only noticeable thing I could notice was that I felt strangely light and free.

I could float aimlessly and expand.

It was very strange.

It didn't feel like I was in a dream.

Then what is this?

Am I ...am I dead?

That doubt arose in my mind.

In a normal situation, that doubt between whether I am still alive or dead would have alarmed and frightened me. My way was in complete ruin after everything that had happened to me, but even so, as a human being I was still afraid of death.

But now, there was no fear or panic.

I simply felt a strange sense of comfort and freedom.

As if I had been relieved of a great weight on my shoulders.

I didn't understand why this place felt so comfortable.

Where is this?

It doesn't feel like heaven, but it doesn't feel like hell either.

It wouldn't be bad to sleep here for eternity.

Eternal rest seems to be less bad than I thought.

Hm?

I hear something.

*Tumb* *Tumb* *Tumb*

Focusing my attention on that sound, I was able to deduce that it was a heartbeat.

Where is it coming from?

*Tumb* *Tumb* *Tumb*

Time passed and the beats were becoming clearer and more concise.

I could tell, those heartbeats seemed to be my own heartbeats.

It seems that I am not quite dead.

Maybe I'm in an induced coma or something.

Slowly, I began to feel parts of my body.

I noticed that my whole body was curled up into a little ball.

Weak and frail, almost no strength at all.

That was my body.

I was surrounded by warm walls and every now and then, my body would shake with the movement of the place.

This is...

An idea of where I am came into my head.

But I quickly shook my head, denying this absurd idea.

No, that's impossible! I must be in an induced coma, yes, that must be happening!

Don't be alarmed, I'll soon be able to wake up!

As time went by, I felt how my body seemed to develop and grow.

My limbs lengthened and formed light muscles.

My bones became stronger and my eyelashes trembled as if I wanted to open my eyes.

I also began to hear voices from outside this place.

I could not understand what they were saying.

My surroundings became silent again.

Time went on and I fell asleep again.

I don't know how long I was asleep, days, weeks, months, I don't know.

But when I woke up again, I was taken with a chaotic situation.

Everything around me was shaking wildly.

The walls were squeezing and starting to compress.

What the hell! Whaa!

My home was falling apart.

My body began to be ejected outward.

Wait a second!

I'm not ready yet!

I want to keep sleeping in this quiet place, please!

Whaa!

...I ended up being born as a newborn.

**

Far from the comfort and tranquility I had felt before, now my surroundings were filled with noise, smells and movement.

Huge gray hands seemed to pick me up and wrap me in a soft blanket.

My whole body felt warm and trembling.

An involuntary baby cry escaped from my mouth.

(Oh, welcome little one!)

An old woman's voice was heard, but I couldn't understand what she said.

====

Void.

After falling into darkness, I somehow ended up floating in an endless void.

There was nothing in this place.

Only cold.

An eternal cold with no light at all.

What is this place?

Where am I?

Oh, wait...

A small light is seen in the distance.

I slowly stretched out my hand to reach for it.

The light was bright.

So bright that it covered everything in white...

**

My eyelashes trembled and finally, I slowly opened my eyes with difficulty.

The first thing that came into my sight was a glowing environment.

Agh!

I closed my eyes again as I gasped and tried to cover my eyes with my hands.

Strangely, my hand didn't move properly and my voice sounded just like a child's babble.

A baby?

Huh?
